Kidde Smoke Alarms - Safety and Security

Evening all.Have two Kidde fyrnetics smoke alarms one is starting to beep. Both are around 8 years old?

I materialize that it needs changed and have deactivated it by cutting the red wire but when I gratified mains electricity it still beeps . Should I get both replaced. What will this cost. Many Thanks

Confirmation to make sure they do not have battery back ups in each of them. Odds are the Battery needs replacing. Sometimes dust bod up/spider webs will cause them to beep as well. Vacuum them throughly.
