Can you get an auto darkening lens to put into a normal welding helmet, or do you have to have a special helme?

I have seen high-priced auto darkening helmets. They have sensors and controls inside.
Well, I have a eats and potatoes helmet with a $1.50 #9 lens inside. I was wondering, can I get an auto darkening lens and put it in my helmet?
yes, but for the prize you would pay you can buy a new helmet.

Hello every one, lately i have been experiencing upset eyes after mig welding . I have had arc eye many moons ago and so recollect to use the parweld auto cloak i have for every unite i do but it seems im still getting some agrevation. Has anyone any ideas? does this come about to other people too?
